The Ireland-Irish Pavilion was featured on CityTV’s breakfast show, with our Ambassador Bryce Sneesby giving the low-down on the pavilion. Gary and Chloe Collins wowed Canada with their fabulous footwork, with Gary giving the host a quick tutorial on a basic step or two.
Winnipeg Free Press Review of our Pavilion
Bring the whole family, as this busy pavilion boasts something for all ages. From a children’s activity area, complete with face painting and a resident leprechaun to the Tipperary Tea Room and The Whisky Snug, you are sure to find something to keep you entertained. Set in an Irish pub, the fun-filled show at this pavilion features Celtic band Ard-Ri, the Toora-Loora-Lay Singers and dancers from the McDonnell and McConnell Schools of Irish Dance. You’ll be clapping along and tapping your toes in no time. VENUE: Seats 420; air-conditioned.
FOOD: Fill up on a traditional hearty Irish meal and wash it down with an equally hearty Guinness or Kilkenny brew. At just $5, the meals are well worth the price. Choose from Irish sausages with a baked potato, or shepherd’s pie or Irish stew with soda bread. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, as the apple crisp is lovely.
HIGHLIGHTS: Straight from County Clare, Ireland, Gary Collins, the 2005 world champion of Irish dance and former touring member with Lord of the Dance, and sister Chloe will amaze you with their lightning-quick footwork and perfect choreography.
INTERESTING FACT: The Republic of Ireland boasts a population of nearly four million people, with another one million Irish-born people living abroad. However, there are more than 70 million people across the globe who claim Irish roots.
