Martin Molloy
It is with great sadness that I inform you all of the passing of Past President, and Honorary Lifetime Member, Martin Molloy. Martin passed away quietly with family at his side on Monday, June 23/08. Martin has been involved with the IAM since the early 80’s. He served many terms as Director, Executive and ultimately President of the Irish Association. Martin was the key man when it came to set design and construction for the Tara Players for many years. He was heavily involved every year with Folklarama, not only in the setting up and running of the pavilion every year, but also as Ambassador. Martin’s contributions to the Irish Association of Manitoba and to the Irish community in Winnipeg in general are too numerous to recount here. But more important than all his hours of contributions and tireless work was his magnificent spirit and attitude in all things. Rarely did one look upon Martin when he didn’t have a grin splitting his face from ear to ear. He had an indomitable spirit and a wonderful zest for life and his contagious laughter could be heard ringing through the rafters of the club on many occasions. Martin will be dearly missed by all and behalf of all the members of the Irish Association of Manitoba we wish Cathy and all Martin’s family our deepest and sincerest condolences.
