Message from the Artistic Director
Dear patrons, supporters and theatre lovers all,
I am pleased to have been chosen as the Artistic Director of the Tara Players. I would like to thank the outgoing artistic director, Paul Gray, and the outgoing general manager, Shannon O Brien for all their hard work over the past four years. I will try with your help, along with incoming general manager Tom Holder, to meet the standards of our predecessors.
As artistic director I am happy to let you know of a wonderful line up of plays for this the 2009-2010 season. Following ‘Olive and Hilary’ we will be presenting the Tara Players Churchill Festival entry “A Number’ in January. In March we present a first for the Tara Players, the musical ‘Nunsence’ directed by Muriel Hogue with Dale Laird. The April production is the ‘Lament for Arthur Cleary’ which will be performed on the following dates (this is a change from previous dates ) , April 30, May 1, and May 6,7,8. This will be the Tara Players entry into the Acting Irish Festival to take place in Chicago later in May. This play will be directed by Paul Gray.
Something new this year: on the second Friday of each play which normally is a performance only night, chicken and fries will be available at the modest cost of $8 prior to curtain.
Hoping you all enjoy the theatre experience for the coming season.
Mary Kelly-Campbell, Artistic Director
