A quirky light comedy in one Act — Turning their backs on professional careers, Olive and Hilary have found happiness in the simple life, earning a modest living by reading Tarot cards and selling herb-filled pillows. Monica, Olive’s younger sister, attempts to dissuade them from their way of life and tries to set them against each other. But her bossiness becomes her downfall.

With her finger as always on the pulse of our deepest concerns, in “A Number”, Caryl Churchill turns her extraordinary dramatic gifts to the subject of human cloning – how might a son feel to discover that he is only one of a number of identical copies. And how would the father feel confronted by these reproachful clones…?

“Nunsense”

The story of a group of nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken Convent. The convent is hit with a disaster of Biblical proportions: 52 nuns die of botulism caused by bad soup. The surviving nuns have only enough money to bury 48 of them, and have left the four others stuffed in the convent freezer. Now, in an act of desperation to bury the remaining four, the survivors are holding a fundraiser.
